What is The Other Penguin?
It is a creative outlet for the founding partners of the creative studio Bright Yellow Jacket. We design things and sell them to you. Our style is simple and clean. We absorb our ideas from vintage and modern influences in fashion, pop art, and graphic design.
What does The Other Penguin sell?
Currently, our feature product is Thumb Cards. Thumbs Cards are our version of social cards. They come in a variety of designs for the front and can be customized with your social info on the back. Our cards are tall and skinny – half the size of a credit card.
Who is The Other Penguin?
The Other Penguin is a division of Bright Yellow Jacket, a creative studio founded by Stephen Oster and Sean Farrow. Their wives needed a way to easily share contact info with other moms for play dates. They needed social cards for moms. Sean and Stephen launched The Other Penguin in order to create unique social cards with a fresh design.
No seriously, who IS The Other Penguin?
Ah, yes. His name is Ollirama Slicker. The name of the shop came out of the parent company’s logo. Bright Yellow Jacket’s mascot, Wolley Slicker, is a penguin wearing a yellow jacket. Naturally, the name for the online store is… the other penguin.
Where is The Other Penguin located?
Our studio is located in the parent company headquarters just outside uptown Charlotte, the Queen City of North Carolina.
